Article Processing Charges (APC), Funding and Open Access Policy
The International Journal of the Nigerian Institutes of Architects (IJNIA) is an open access journal committed to the broad dissemination of high-quality research, professional knowledge, and innovative scholarship within architecture, the built environment, urbanism, sustainability, digital construction, and global architectural discourse. All articles published in the journal are made freely and permanently accessible online to readers worldwide without subscription or access barriers. This open access approach is intended to support global knowledge exchange, research visibility, academic collaboration, professional engagement, and the advancement of sustainable built environment development. To support editorial management, peer review, digital publication, indexing, archiving, and long-term accessibility, the journal applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted manuscripts.
Article Processing Charge (APC) - ₦100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Nigerian Naira) per accepted article.
The APC is payable only after a manuscript has successfully completed peer review and has been formally accepted for publication. No submission or review fees are charged prior to acceptance, and editorial decisions are made independently of authors’ financial status or ability to pay. IJNIA encourages institutional partnerships, research collaborations, sponsorship arrangements, and funding agreements that may support or partially cover APC costs for authors. Contributors may also seek support through university publication schemes, research grants, professional sponsorship, or external funding bodies, where applicable.
In recognition of the important contribution of peer reviewers, the journal may periodically provide APC discount vouchers or publication support incentives for future submissions. Eligibility and conditions for such incentives will be determined by the journal and communicated where applicable. IJNIA remains committed to maintaining affordable and accessible publishing opportunities while ensuring high editorial standards, ethical publishing practices, and sustainable open access dissemination of architectural and built environment research.
